How to Clear Cloudy Pool Water
Cloudy water is caused by chemistry imbalance, filter issues, or fine particulate.
Diagnose the Cause
- High pH (over 7.8): scale forms, water turns cloudy
- Low free chlorine: organic load builds up
- Dirty or undersized filter
- Fine debris from storm or pollen
Fix
- Test pH and alkalinity. Lower pH if above 7.8
- Shock the pool
- Run pump 24 hours straight
- Add clarifier or flocculant
- Backwash or clean filter
