How WETYR Pools collects reviews

1. Only after the job is closed out. When a project is complete and paid, the client receives an email with a private review link tied to that one project. No one else can submit a review through it.
2. In the client's own words. The client picks a rating from 1 to 5 and writes whatever they want to say. We do not edit the text.
3. Published only with permission. A review appears on this page only if the client ticks the box allowing us to use it, and then only with their first name and city. No email, phone number or street address is ever shown.
4. No rating filter. If a client allows publication, the review is eligible to appear here whatever the rating.

If no reviews appear above, it means no client has yet published one through this process. We would rather show nothing than show something we cannot stand behind.

What we check before a contractor works on your project

WETYR Pools works with a network of independent local pool professionals. Our contractor application pages list the minimum requirements to join, and our team verifies license and insurance before a contractor is approved:

• An active state pool contractor or pool service license
• General liability coverage of at least $1M, plus workers' compensation
• 3+ years in business, or 5+ years of pool industry experience
• A service area within reach of the job

Every project starts with a written, itemized quote, and our builds carry the 3-year workmanship warranty described on our service pages. Ask for both in writing from any contractor you consider, including us.

How to read pool contractor reviews before you hire

Online reviews are useful, but a pool is a five or six figure project that lasts decades. These checks separate a reliable signal from noise, wherever you read reviews:

• Look for specifics. A real review usually names the work (resurface, heater swap, new gunite build), the timeline, and at least one thing that went wrong and how it was handled. Generic praise with no details carries little weight.
• Check the dates and the spread. A burst of five-star reviews in one week, or none for years, is a warning sign. Steady reviews over time are more believable.
• Match the job to yours. Great weekly-service reviews say little about a company's ability to build a vanishing-edge pool, and the reverse is also true.
• Read the negative reviews and the replies. How a contractor responds to a complaint tells you how they will treat you when something goes wrong.
• Verify outside the reviews. Look up the license number on your state contractor board, ask for a current certificate of insurance, and confirm the business name on the contract matches the license.
• Ask for older references. Plaster, tile and equipment problems often show up one to three years after a build. A client from two summers ago is often more informative than one from last month.
• Be wary of incentives. Reviews written in exchange for a discount or gift are often less candid, and businesses are not allowed to present them as unbiased.
