Infrared vs Traditional Sauna
Infrared and traditional (steam-rock) saunas both produce a sweat session but heat the body very differently. Each has measurable physiological tradeoffs.
Heat Mechanism
Traditional: heats the air to 160 to 200 degrees, body sweats from ambient air. Infrared: emits infrared light that heats the body directly. Cabin stays at 110 to 140 degrees.
Session Feel
Traditional: intense, immersive, classic Finnish ritual. Infrared: milder ambient heat, longer comfortable sessions (often 30 to 45 minutes vs 15 to 20 for traditional).
